This self-catering property is a period family home of quality, previously owned by the writer Rosamunde Pilcher. It is a large, spacious two-floor flat situated in the High Street, right opposite the cathedral. With oil-fired central heating throughout, it has four comfortable double bedrooms with two bathrooms, one with shower; a well-sized kitchen with large pine table for breakfast/dinner; a relaxing, sun-lit sitting room with open gas fire and large bay window that looks out onto the cathedral. At the rear of the building, there is an extensive private garden with flowerbeds and sloping lawns.
Car parking is on the street and free throughout Dornoch, and there are all manner of shops, restaurants and pubs within minutes of the property. It is only a ten-minute walk to the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and then a further five minutes will take you on to the unspoiled lengths of Dornoch beach, perfect for a bucket and spader or for walking the dog.
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in the Bank House, and in the magical village of Dornoch!
It was everything that I had hoped for...and the Scottish Highlands are a place we are both entranced with.
The scenery was dramatic and breathtaking - and at some points almost seemed surreal. It is fun to look through our
photos now and remember all the special days and things we saw.
Sophia is such a dear - she had fresh flowers awaiting on the table in the bay window, apples on the kitchen table,
and basics in the refrigerator.
It was such fun to be a part of your village for the week - the people, friendly and welcoming. Life seemed to be
at a slower pace, and that is so restoring. Please know how much we enjoyed inhabitating your lovely home -
we feel blessed to have had the experience.
Kindest regards,
Stephanie
