Self Catering Holiday Home in Dornoch, Scotland

About Us

Originally the home of the bank manager when he was obliged 'to live above the shop', the Pilcher Bank House Dornoch was bought by the writer Rosamunde Pilcher in 1992 for her Scottish holidays, as she thought Dornoch to be similar to her childhood home in Lelant, Cornwall. Her husband was also a keen golfer and a member of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. The house in now in the hands of her daughter-in-law, Kirsty, who had spent her own childhood in Dornoch. 

Rosamunde's book, Winter Solstice, was made into a film in Dornoch, using many of the local landmarks for locations.
